"I thoroughly enjoyed "Wuthering Heights" due to its insightful portrayal of characters with personality disorders. Heathcliff's consistent cruelty and his upbringing's influence on his transformation, as well as his son Linton's evident narcissistic behavior disorder, made for a compelling narrative.

Initially, the book proved to be quite challenging, prompting me to resort to the audiobook to ease into the story and gain a better understanding. However, once I immersed myself in it, there was no turning back.

My journey into classic literature began this year, driven by a desire to move away from the kind of literature my English teacher from the 90s would not have endorsed. I have no regrets about this decision.

Notably, the book's physical presentation is striking, resembling an antique tome, which adds to the overall appeal of this exceptional work." - Amazon Reviewer

Format:

Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate story of the intense and almost demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine's brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries. The action of the story is chaotic and unremittingly violent, but the accomplished handling of a complex structure, the evocative descriptions of the lonely moorland setting and the poetic grandeur of vision combine to make this unique novel a masterpiece of English literature.
